Crawford's Farm

Update 9/24/02
Please read the email below. I've taken the map/directions offline - if
you know how to get there, then you're in baby! If not, enjoy the pictures
and thank the greedy fuckers who abuse and litigate the insurance industry to
the point that nobody can afford the liability insurance for shutting you out -
it's not Ed's fault. That includes every filthy fucking lawyer (not ALL
lawyers - I do know some good ones), and every trailer trash piece of
shit who let's their kid ride, then gets hurt, and then sues the land-owner for
it, in the hope of getting rich quick, instead of working like the rest of us.
Those of you who've done this, or who've represented people with these frivolous
lawsuits know who are - and here's a big fuck you to you from everyone else who
doesn't' abuse the legal system, but has to pay for your bullshit. Little
bitches!
hi mike, checked out your friends web site at
www.caldirt.com it was pretty cool. lots
of info. only one thing, I know ed Crawford and he would flip if he seen his
place advertised. it started out at his place with only a select few who with
his permission got to ride there. about 20 of us only, mostly racers. friends
here and there got word and it got spread like wild fire. he is too cool to
say no usually but with liability and such as it is today he doesn't want a
million people out there. I'd hate to have him close it down so maybe your
friend ought to take his place down from the internet. (unless of course he
knows ed and already talked to him) I don't want to talk out of line but his
place is one of the only privately owned places if not the only one in this
state that allows this kind of riding privileges. and although most riders are
pretty down to earth and cool, there is always the one asshole that gets hurts
and tries to sue and screws it up for everybody. plus I would hate to see this
happen to ed. forgive me if I'm out of line but ed is a nice guy.
Apparently this place is owned by a former desert racer who's been kind
enough to provide access to his own property to enthusiasts. This place is
great - there are 3 dedicated tracks here - an oval flat track, a kiddie track
and a nice practice track with some doubles and tabletops. This place is
kid-friendly and there's always several people riding here. The dirt is
dark and kind of loose - but this place usually dries out pretty quickly after a
rain because there's lots of sand in the soil. Lots of trees here, so look
out.
As you come around the corner (below), you'll make a sharp right off the road
just past the white trailer. There will be a gate and a few dogs who will
greet you.
The only thing to keep in mind is that you can't ride here during 8-4
weekdays because the owner is building a new home and needs to keep the area
clear for construction crews. Oh, and remember to close the gate when you
come and go.
