Warning!: this site contains coarse language that most of us use, but may offend some people (who probably play golf, tennis or badminton anyway).  Seriously, if you have little kids, CalDirt is probably not for them - no porn, but a lot of ranting and raving, spoken the way boys normally talk.  If you don't like the f'ing "F-word", you should probably leave now.  Have a great f'ing day!

Welcome Fellow Motocross Freaks!

Cool!  You live in Central California, you've got a dirt bike and you want to go riding.  You've been visualizing the feeling of revving the throttle and nailing HUGE tabletops and getting major air for months.  Now you've finally got a bike but wait...where the hell do you go to ride without getting kicked out?

That was my dilemma in late 2000.  I'd owned a couple of street bikes in the past and at 33, I had way too much adrenaline and pent-up aggression so I figured a dirt bike would be a great way to let off some steam and not hurt anyone...except maybe myself.  Man I love the smell of two-stroke exhaust in the morning.   ;-)

Then came the time to find places to ride.  Sure, I live in Central California - thousands and thousands of acres of great farmland to ride.  And you know what?  There are also thousands and thousands of acres of fences, signs, rules, complaining homeowners, and cops who are just doing their job.  It's taken me several months to find out where to ride safely, and without getting anyone's panties in a wad.  Unbelievably, there is no single, resource with current, accurate information on where you can go to ride in Central California.

Typically, you find out through a network of friends who also ride, your local bike dealerships and research.  While I went through this unnecessary indoctrination, I searched many times for web sites that simply listed WHERE TO RIDE in this area and found nothing.  Sure, there are a few sites here and there that list places to ride throughout the country, or the State of California's OHV site, but it was really difficult to find a single site, dedicated to places to ride in Central California.  Thus was born caldirt.com.  I hope you enjoy it, and I hope it saves you time trying to figure out where to ride!

BTW: Please keep in mind this site is a work in progress and simply a way to spend my free time when it's raining and I can't ride.  If you have ideas about content you'd like to see here, feel free to contact me at the address below!  This site is intended for the pleasure of anyone who rides any dirt off road vehicle - not just bikes.
